Open House Athens is scheduled for Saturday, April 9, and Sunday, April 10, featuring in-person architectural tours of over 50 buildings, along with three curated routes in central Athens and Kifisia. The main sponsor of OHA for another year is SIAS S.A., a leading window and façade systems company.
OHA 2022 is held under the auspices of the Municipality of Athens and with the support of ATHENS CULTURE NET.
More specifically, the following activities are planned as part of Open House Athens 2022:
OPEN TOURS
The main event of OHA consists of guided tours of more than 50 buildings – historic and contemporary, public and private, residential, commercial, cultural, recreational, and religious spaces, monuments, and sites of particular architectural interest. Tours are conducted by 400 volunteers (Volunteer Sponsor: KraftPaints). Participation in OPEN TOURS is free of charge and does not require prior registration, within each building’s operating hours. MADE IN ATHENS
An integral part of Open House, MADE IN Athens (sponsored by KAFKAS) returns this year with 10 spaces. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore production processes of various products and engage with designers and creators. Tours are free of charge during each venue’s operating hours. OPEN WALKS
Three thematic walking routes are part of OHA, introducing participants to Athens’ architectural heritage:

The OPEN WALKS, sponsored by SIAS S.A., reveal lesser-known sides of the city with particular architectural and historical interest. Each walk lasts 1.5–2 hours. OPEN OFFICE
Sponsored by Dimand, OPEN OFFICE returns this year with recorded interviews of architectural offices operating in Athens. The aim of this parallel initiative is to highlight the profession of architecture, presenting both established and emerging architects who stand out in their field. LIVE TOURS

OPEN PHOTO
The annual photography contest, sponsored by Prodea Investments, allows participants to share their perspective and experience. Open to amateurs, professionals, and architecture enthusiasts, the three winning photographs are awarded Fujifilm cameras. More information: https://www.openhouseathens.gr/event/open-photo/
OPEN VOTE
The Audience Award contest enables visitors to vote for their favorite tour and enter a draw for a special prize. Volunteers of the corresponding buildings/routes are also recognized with certificates and commemorative gifts. More information: https://www.openhouseathens.gr/event/open-vote/
OPEN YOUR PORTFOLIO
The established portfolio competition is once again part of OHA. Vakalo School of Art & Design, aiming to cultivate creativity and enhance interior architectural education, offers a full scholarship for the MA in Architectural Design program, validated by the UK-based University of Derby. The scholarship covers full tuition (worth €8,000) for the academic year 2022–23 and is part of OHA’s parallel activities.
The event’s visual identity was selected through the DESIGN THE POSTER competition, co-organized with Vakalo School of Art & Design. Results will be announced soon. We sincerely thank all participants!
