Villa Serenissima: Architectural Lighting Design for a Luxury Rental Residence
A holistic approach to atmosphere, functionality and spatial identity
The lighting design of this luxury rental residence was conceived with a clear intention: to highlight the architectural identity of the building, enhance the atmosphere of each space and ensure optimal functionality and visual comfort. The selection of luminaires, colour temperatures and technical installation methods was carried out in full harmony with the architectural concept, the material palette and the surrounding natural landscape. Here, lighting becomes not merely a tool for meeting functional needs, but a core aesthetic element that reinforces the clean architectural lines, the natural textures and the spatial experience—both indoors and outdoors.
Living Room & Kitchen | Linear clarity and seamless integration
The living room and kitchen are illuminated through LED spotlights integrated into recessed magnetic track systems. This approach offers flexibility, clean linear geometries and a refined minimal aesthetic. Above the kitchen island, high-performance spotlights provide focused task lighting while maintaining an elegant and understated visual presence.
Dining Area | Warmth, atmosphere and focal emphasis
Suspended luminaires with warm white light were selected for the dining area, creating a welcoming and relaxing ambience. At the same time, they act as a visual anchor, drawing attention to the central element of the space and highlighting the elegance of the decorative fixture.
Indoor Pool | Geometric precision and serene diffusion
The indoor pool area is lit with linear wall-mounted luminaires that follow the architectural geometry of the space. Their soft and uniform light distribution fosters a calm, meditative atmosphere, while accentuating the purity of architectural lines.
Bedrooms | A balance of ambient and functional light
The bedrooms combine ambient lighting with highly functional solutions to ensure comfort, privacy and a sense of understated luxury.

Pendant reading lights on either side of the bed, mounted on recessed tracks, offering precise and controllable illumination for reading.

Concealed LED strip lighting integrated into the curtain pockets, providing a soft, tranquil glow.

Recessed ceiling spots delivering uniform general lighting with minimal glare, preserving the clarity of surfaces and spatial calmness.
Gym | Brightness, performance and well-being
In the gym, high-efficiency linear LED luminaires were selected to provide clean, uniform illumination with low glare — ideal for exercise and a heightened sense of energy and well-being.
Outdoor Lighting
Outdoor Pool | Atmosphere through reflection and durability
For the outdoor pool, robust polycarbonate luminaires with high ingress protection were used, suitable for constant exposure to humidity and chlorinated environments. Their light reflects subtly across the water surface, creating an impressive yet balanced nighttime atmosphere.
Exterior Walls & Landscaping — Texture, warmth and natural integration
On the exterior stone walls:

Single-beam wall luminaires highlight the natural texture and depth of the stone.

Rectangular wall-mounted fixtures above doorways ensure both functional visibility and architectural emphasis.
Significant attention was given to the landscape lighting design, using ground-mounted LED fixtures to accentuate trees and low planting areas. Warm colour temperatures and low-intensity lighting were selected to enhance the sculptural quality of the vegetation and create an atmosphere of absolute relaxation.
Outdoor Dining Area — Natural materials, warm ambience
Suspended bamboo luminaires were chosen for the outdoor dining space, reinforcing the connection with the natural surroundings and adding a warm, welcoming tone to the environment.
