Offices of FEAC Engineering
FEAC Engineering, headquartered in Patras with offices also in Athens, is an engineering and consulting firm specializing in product development through simulation and Digital Twin technologies. The company undertakes the design, research, and development (R&D) of systems and structures, employing advanced simulation techniques that account for physical phenomena such as material strength, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and electromagnetism, as well as artificial intelligence.
The renovation of the company’s office premises in Patras, with a total area of 320 sq.m., and recipient of the “BIG SEE Interior Design Award 2025”, prioritizes natural light, transforming the workspace into a vibrant and welcoming environment.
In a creative collaboration with POINT Architects and architect-engineer Dimitra (Mimi) Askouni, who oversaw the project, lighting was approached as a fundamental architectural tool that actively contributes to shaping the identity of the space. Designed with precision and sensitivity by the architectural team, the lighting concept serves both the aesthetic clarity and functional integrity of the project. The project’s demanding requirements were met through a high level of technical expertise in both design and execution.
With only one façade allowing for the entry of natural light, the architectural proposal skillfully unifies the private workspaces with the open-plan layout, creating a fluid transition between zones. All lighting fixtures and metal panels were custom-designed for the project, paired with exposed ceiling segments that preserve the authentic materiality of the existing shell. The color palette aligns seamlessly with the company’s brand identity, contributing to a cohesive, creative atmosphere that fosters communication, inspiration, and collaboration.
Particular emphasis was placed on lighting details, which were discreetly integrated into the architectural composition, yet play a decisive role in shaping the user’s spatial experience with precision and harmony.
The implementation process, which followed POINT Architects’ comprehensive lighting study, extended beyond the mere application of the design. It involved meticulous coordination and guidance of the technical crews throughout all phases of installation, ensuring rigorous adherence to the design specifications. This holistic approach encompassed the entire electrical infrastructure—from the selection and placement of electrical panels and cabling to switches and control systems—guaranteeing both technical consistency and complete aesthetic integration of all electromechanical components.
The project was awarded in the WORKPLACE category of the “BIG SEE Interior Design Awards 2025.”
