Educational Program by the Alexander Innovation Zone at HUB Thessaloniki
The team of HUB Lighting & Innovation by Kafkas in Thessaloniki participated in the educational program organized by the Alexander Innovation Zone, welcoming students from the 2nd grade of EPAL Thermi for an immersive introduction to architectural lighting and building automation.
During the visit, students were introduced to contemporary lighting technologies and control systems applied in smart buildings. Through interactive presentations and real-world case studies, they explored how lighting design shapes atmosphere, enhances functionality, and defines spatial experience.
Particular emphasis was placed on the HUB’s experience rooms, where participants observed in practice key lighting parameters—such as colour temperature, intensity, and beam direction—gaining a deeper understanding of how subtle variations can transform perception and user behaviour within a space.
In the second part of the program, Ms. Evmorfia Gerasimou and Ms. Efrosyni Kourmouli, members of the company’s HR team, presented the professional pathways within the sector, highlighting the skills and competencies required in today’s evolving market.
Overall, the visit highlighted the educational role of the HUB as a platform for knowledge exchange, experimentation, and the meaningful connection between education and innovation—fostering a new generation of professionals in lighting and smart building technologies.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Ms. Leda Papatzika and Ms. Lia Theodouli from the Alexander Innovation Zone for the organization of this initiative.
