One Step Closer to Smart Lighting!
On June 27, the Kafkas Institute, in collaboration with the HUB Lighting & Innovation by Kafkas, organized in Thessaloniki the specialized seminar “DALI Fridays – Smart Lighting Designed for Professionals”, delivered by Giorgos Mermigis (Building Technologies Engineer, Electrical Engineer). The training was held in the pioneering space of HUB Thessaloniki, once again highlighting our role as a point of reference in lighting expertise and innovation.
The seminar focused on DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface), which has become internationally recognized as the most reliable and flexible protocol for modern lighting control in commercial and architectural projects. Participants had the opportunity to explore the world of DALI and understand why it is the top choice for architects, engineers, and lighting designers around the world.
The advantages of DALI were thoroughly presented, emphasizing its ability to offer:
-
Precise lighting control per luminaire
-
Customization and automation tailored to each project’s needs
-
Easy scalability and maintenance, significantly reducing cost and complexity
Moreover, as an international, open standard, DALI ensures compatibility with products from multiple manufacturers, offering flexibility and freedom in design. It is a technology that combines intelligent lighting management with installation simplicity, and is ideally suited for spaces where light serves as a means of expression, functionality, and experience — from museums and hotels to offices and high-end residences.
Through initiatives such as DALI Fridays, the Kafkas Institute continues to offer cutting-edge training to industry professionals, reinforcing our commitment to innovation and the dissemination of knowledge around smart lighting.
Participants were also guided through the HUB Thessaloniki by Dimitra Brisimi, Senior Lighting Consultant.
